@Nick Reese
Thanks for the comment! Maybe the term Ferrissian will someday be used from the lectern at the top business schools. Hmmm. Perhaps I should start licensing the use of the term for a penny a pop.

It's great that you're already pursuing a financially independent lifestyle. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money if you exercise some basic internet related marketing skills.

One word of encouragement would be to start thinking early and often about creating your own brand or product with intrinsic value. Even though I make a full time living from promoting other company's products I'm building two companies right now that I own and have their own products. As a matter of fact they will support their own affiliate programs. (This is starting to sound like the makings of a decent post...)

Did you check out @Brandon K's comment and go to his website for the Porch Potty? This is what I'm talking about. But I don't believe such a proprietary product is needed to find success even though it's fantastic if you do come up with something totally unique.

Interesting Journey. I too like your use of Tim Ferriss as an adjective. I like your blog's ambition and I will be returning soon. Landed here on the ECM post. Appreciate the in depth review. I will be giving it a go later this year. Just graduated College, have been doing Affiliate marketing for a couple years now. Time to enjoy the mobile lifestyle.

Ps. Nice hack of thesis ;)

@Brandon K.
Thanks for your encouraging comment. It's great to hear of your success. I checked out your site PorchPotty.com after seeing the URL in your comment. I thought, "This is either a lazy man's dream toilet for lazy Sunday afternoons or something else I've never conceived of." It was, thankfully, the latter. What a cool idea!
I encourage every one to check out Brandon's innovation. It's quite unique.

I like the adjective "Tim Ferrissian". Clever.
I also was a Real Estate Developer who has learned the ways of Tim Ferris. I started an online pet product business a little over a year ago, and have completely designed it to run on its own. It seems so fairy tale like, but I honestly just followed his book (after reading at least 20 times), and a little luck and hard work, got me to an income that is WAY beyond what I was expecting to make, and the freedom to work where and when I want is what makes it that much sweeter. I loved developing real estate, but nothing can beat an automated business that works while you sleep. Keep up the good work Mark. I'm a believer in your blog's mission.
